Have you been sucked into the feeling of uncertainty and not knowing what to do? Here’s how to reframe your mindset in a positive light.
In crazy times like these with the coronavirus, you can easily find yourself getting sucked into the “what ifs.” “What if I can’t afford x”, or “what happens if I lose my job” or “what if I can’t support my family.”
“What ifs” can drive you crazy. This is totally understandable; these are all legitimate and scary fears.
But here is the thing with uncertainty.
Even in uncertain times, you can always find certainty in your life that you do have control over. Let’s go over what you can control.
From the time you wake up, until the time you lay your head down to sleep, you choose the emotions that you want to feel the rest of the day.
Instead of feeling sad that you are stuck at home, you have the choice to be happy and find ways to make you happy! For example, you can be present playing with your kids, take the time to finally read that book sitting on the shelf, or even taking a nap. Whatever makes you happy, do more of that!
I know this can be especially hard if you are empathetic (can feel others emotions.) But instead of letting others’ feelings start to bother you, ask yourself, “is that emotion theirs or mine?” If it is theirs, bless and release! If it’s yours, take deep breaths and reframe your mindset so you can feel happier the rest of the day! 🙂
I always say that the first thought in your head you are not responsible for, but every thought after that, you are. You have the ability to control your thoughts.
When you are feeling that uncertainty, and start having thoughts that make you feel uneasy, take a step back, and take 3 deep breaths. Ask yourself, “How can I reframe this thought in a more positive way.”
An example; you are now a homeschool teacher until your kids go back to school. Instead of having thoughts of giving up and being over it, reframe your mindset in a positive light! Just keep reminding yourself, this is only temporary, and not forever.
It’s easier said than done, but the more you reframe your mindset in a positive light, the easier it gets! 🙂
You have the ability to choose what action you want to take, or no action whatsoever.
An example of this; you can’t really go out and about shopping while quarantining unless it’s to the grocery store. However, you can go take a walk in nature, go on a stroll, or go online shopping!
The power is in your hands whatever action you want, or don’t want to, take! That is super empowering!
Reframe your mindset. Although times are uncertain, your emotions, thoughts, and actions can all be reframed to be more positive than ever!
During times of uncertainty, it’s easy to be caught up into the what if’s and the scarcity. But instead of looking at all of this happening against you, what if everything is happening for you, for the better!
