5 Programs Every Photographer Should Use!

Thinking about switching your career to photography? Here are 5 programs you should definitely use!

Starting a career in photography is super exciting! I mean, how cool is it that you can get paid to take pictures of people! Best thing ever, right?!

But if you are anything like me, you know that it’s hard to figure out what kind of programs and software to use for your photography business that will save you money, but especially time.

So without further adieu, here are 5 programs you should use for your photography business!

***This blog post contains affiliate links and I will receive a small commission from a couple of these programs mentioned. Rest assured, I only recommend programs that I use all of the time and has seamlessly worked in my business.***

1. Lightroom

If you feel like Photoshop is similar to learning physics, you are in great company and you will LOVE Lightroom!

Lightroom is absolutely phenomenal editing platform which is great for photographers! Not only can you cull through your photos, but upload your presets (and make your own), and edit your photos to the way that you want to!

One of the best features you can use in Lightroom while editing is the reference/active button! This feature allows you reference back to a picture you edited, to make sure that you have a consistent style editing for the rest of the gallery!

Speaking of culling as mentioned above, if you don’t like culling through Lightroom, you can use…

2. Photo Mechanic

Photo Mechanic has truly been the biggest time saver, EVER! In a matter of seconds, Photo Mechanic can upload photos from your session in high resolution, and you can quickly cull through which photos you want to keep and which ones you want to throw out!

By using Photo Mechanic, what used to take me 1-2 hours to go through photos from a session, now takes me 10 minutes or less!

3. Blog Stomp

Although it is not used for me as much as the two programs mentioned above, it is equally as important when it’s time to blog my images.

If you want to give your clients an awesome client experience, it elevates your client experience by blogging their session! Instead of waiting forever for WordPress to upload images and figure out how to make collages out of the photos, it is much faster to upload your images to Blog Stomp!

Not only will it be fun making collages in Blog Stomp, but your time will be cut in half because your images are optimized specifically for blogs!

Speaking of client experience, one of the best investments EVER that you can use is…

4. Honeybook

Gone are the days of paper contracts and trying to keep track of clients by yourself! Honeybook is a Client Management System where you can send invoices, proposals, contracts, questionnaires, brochures, email blasts, and the list goes on and on!
