“Not Enough Time” | Mindset Reframe for Photographers


Here are 3 ways to reframe your mindset that there is not enough time to do something.

“I don’t have enough time to…”

Have you ever caught yourself saying that you don’t have enough time to do something? I’m sure you have; whether that be going to the gym, self-care, or anything really.

But the crazy truth?

You DO have the time! It’s just all about how you prioritize your time! Not sure how to prioritize your time? Here are 3 ways how!

1. Write out what you value most

Before you do anything, it’s important to sit down and write out what you value most. What matters most to you? Is it spending time with your family? Your health? Your social life?

Whatever you value most, write that as number 1, and list everything less than that underneath. By doing so, you’ll be able to realize what matters most to you, so that you know what you do have enough time for.

2. Write out your schedule

The second step to learning how to prioritize is by writing out your schedule. Do you have a schedule, or are you more of see what the day brings kind of person?

Even if you are a go with the flow kind of person, have a simple rough draft of what your schedules and days typically look like.

After writing down what you value most, look and see how much time you are devoting to what is important to you. This is essential because you will have proof of what you do have enough time for, and don’t have time for.

If you realized that there is a lot of time being wasted that isn’t something that is on the top of your values list, that’s okay. Give yourself grace and start thinking of ways to change up your schedule to reflect your values.

3. Batch your work

You know when you make a dozen cookies, you don’t make one cookie at a time; you batch them! The same goes for your schedule and prioritizing time!

For example, instead of taking on meetings every day of the week, what if you only took on meetings on Wednesday? This would allow you to use your time more wisely Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

When all else fails, remember this…

You have the same amount of time in the day as Oprah Winfrey and Beyoncé! It’s not about having enough time, it’s about how you prioritize your time!

And if you are using the excuse that there isn’t enough time so that you don’t have to do something, it’s okay. We have all done that at one point or another. But if it does matter to you, you’ll find a way to make it happen!
