Lies a very small chapel hidden on Caroga Lake. In a little cabin next to the chapel, Devon anxiously awaited to see her soon-to-be husband. An ivory wedding dress embellished in crystals, Devon’s wedding dress was timeless and simple. A vase on the table held her bouquet full of roses, ivy, thistle, and carnations. Downstairs, she gushed to her best friend and mom how ready she excited she was to marry Greg.
Everyone was so anxious to see the bride, especially her groom! I watched Greg as he stood at the front of the church. You could tell by his body language, he was eager and ready to meet his bride at the end of the altar. When Greg spotted Devon walking down the aisle with her father, his eyes gleamed and he smiled from ear to ear. What was really cool about the ceremony itself, was that a family friend of theirs sang an opera song during the ceremony. Just even thinking about the song gives me chills because it was so beautifully sung and it was so sweet watching Greg wrap his arm around Devon.
Once they were announced as husband and wife, and Greg kissed his bride, the bridal party made their way to Sherman’s Amusement Center on Caroga Lake. The cool part about this park? It was abandoned!
You would never know in these photos that they were taken at a broken down amusement park! However, Sherman’s Amusement Center has so much meaning to the bride and groom because they share memories at the park! So much so, that on the top of their cake, there is a little amusement park at the top! Cute, right?!
When we arrived at the reception, we were greeted to a seriously cool 1926 Ford Model A parked in front of their family cottage. The tent was filled with family and friends laughing and chatting away. Once everyone was seated, the Shearer family welcomed everyone for coming. Then came the speeches. This is where it got emotional.
You could hear the emotion in his voice. Tears started to roll down his eyes. His voice choked up when he said, “I knew this day would come where I would have to give Devon away, I just never realized how hard it would be.” There was no dry eye in the room when Devon’s father gave the toast at the wedding reception. As you looked around the room, tears filled everyone’s eyes. I, myself, started bawling my eyes out. There are no words to describe the amount of love overflowing in one reception area.
Seriously though, these two are SO CUTE! Just the way that they look at each other is the cutest thing ever because their eyes just glisten with so much love and adoration. I cannot wait to see where their new life takes them in London, England! Congratulations, Devon and Greg!!
