In a year of uncertainty, 2020 brought one of the biggest life lessons! Check out what it is!

Without a doubt, 2020 was the year of uncertainty. From starting the year off on a high to end the year, truly not knowing what the future holds. None of us could have ever predicted that there would be lockdowns like crazy, let alone a pandemic. But through all of the unpredictability, there were a ton of life lessons learned along the way!

In this article, I will share with you one of the biggest life lessons I’ve learned this year, and hopefully, you can relate too! Included with lesson, is a couple of tips and tricks! Ready to get started? Let’s go!

The biggest life lesson from this year

Don’t let fear consume you

Not letting fear consume you can be one of the hardest lessons to grapple with. Not only because you are inundated with a fear-based narrative from the media daily, but our subconscious has a ton of underlying fears we unconsciously navigate every day. Thoughts like the fear of being judged can stop a person from posting what’s on their heart or even stop them from going after their dreams.

Here’s the thing, though. When you let fear consume you, you are ultimately giving your power away. Let’s use a virus as an example. It might be a bit controversial, but if you are letting the fear of getting a virus stop you from living your normal life, you are ultimately giving your power away to something that you honestly have no control over if you get it or not.

How do you not let fear consume you?

What you focus on grows. So if you start to get overwhelmed by fear, make a conscious effort to start thinking of something else. Easier said than done, but one thing that helps me is doing a gratitude rampage. I consciously start thinking about everything that I am grateful for, and ultimately, it changes my mood and thoughts!

Another technique that works well is the mute button. When fear, negative thoughts, or beliefs comes into your head, you say inside your head or out loud, “Mute!” Surprisingly, it works a lot for my coaching clients!
