Have you ever heard of batching?
As a photographer, it is as if your pile of work of what you need to do is a mile long! But what if you could save time and do everything at once?
Sounds crazy, right? It’s not as crazy as it sounds!
Introducing batch working!
Let’s face it, when you are baking cookies, you typically don’t make one cookie at a time, you make a batch! Similar to cookies, batch working is when you set a specific day or time to dedicate to one thing!
So when it comes to photography, you can set a certain day or time just focused on one topic. An example of this would be Monday!
On Mondays at Brianne Hultzman Photography, it is solely dedicated to social media. That means that Facebook posts are scheduled out for the rest of the week, sometimes even two weeks! After that is completed, I move onto Instagram, so on and so forth.
So why am I batching all of these tasks together?
Batch working ultimately saves you an insane amount of time so that you can do the things that you love to do!
By focusing on one task at a time and schedule for the rest of the week, it allows your brain to settle down and not try to multitask later on in the week. There is nothing more overwhelming when you realize, “Oh crap, I need to make a Facebook post! And an Instagram caption! And X and Y and Z all at once!” That’s just exhausting to do that all at once!
Once you batch work, you’ll realize you are so much more productive and you suddenly have all of the time in the world to do the things that you love!
Are you on a time crunch? Set a timer while batch working your work! Not only does it test to see how much you can accomplish in a short amount of time, but it is also really fun!
